Open Water Dive course from SSI
The Open Water Dive Course from SSI (Scuba Schools International) is the basic course for beginning divers. It is recognized worldwide and provides a thorough introduction to the underwater world. The program is designed to train divers in the fundamentals of diving, focusing on safety and fun.
Advanced Adventurer course SSI
If you already have your Open Water Diver certification, you can continue with specialty training. Specialty courses focus on specific diving areas, such as Deep Diving. Not all divers know right away what they like best. That’s why SSI designed the Advanced Adventurer course, which allows you to explore 5 different specialties.
The Advanced Adventurer course is a great way to enhance your underwater experience while receiving guidance on how to proceed with your training. All completed Adventure Dives can later be used to complete an entire Specialty.
Advanced Open WaterDiver SSI
To achieve this SSI recognition, you must complete four Specialty courses and log a minimum of 24 dives.
At Curaçao Pirates Diving, you will find a wide selection of specialty courses. Your choice of specialties may vary based on your plans, preferences, or future dive destinations. However, there are some specialties that every diver should consider, regardless of their experience level.
We recommend the following Specialty courses: Enriched Air Nitrox, Deep Diving, Perfect Buoyancy, Navigation, and Night & Limited Visibility.
After completing four specialties and logging 24 dives, you will automatically receive your SSI Advanced Open Water Diver recognition card, along with certificates for the completed Specialty courses.
Diver Stress & Rescue SSI
Perhaps the most essential specialty of all. SSI’s Diver Stress & Rescue course provides a valuable opportunity for divers to expand their skills for dealing with stressful and potentially dangerous situations underwater.
This course focuses on recognizing stress in yourself and others, applying stress management techniques, and performing rescues in emergency situations.
The course focuses not only on rescuing others, but also on increasing your own self-confidence and improving your problem-solving ability underwater.
With an SSI Stress & Rescue course, you will be better prepared for situations where a quick and thoughtful response is essential.
Dive Guide SSI
SSI’s Dive Guide course is designed for experienced divers who want to expand their skills and take on the role of guide.
This course focuses on developing the knowledge and abilities needed to guide other divers safely and efficiently, both in recreational and professional environments. The Dive Guide course provides comprehensive insights into dive planning, risk management, group supervision and improving guide communication skills. During this course, participants learn not only technical diving skills, but also how to act effectively as leaders and guides.
After certification as an SSI Dive Guide, registering a minimum of 60 dives and completing the SSI Science of Diving specialization, you will obtain the title of SSI Divemaster.
